OFFICIAL DISCLAIMER: The names and faces here are fictitious. This also includes the CHARACTER of Cheston Waiwaha from yesterdays blogpost. This is a work of fiction, about non fictional crap, crapped by a real person, that we are parodying, dissing, raging and snarking on. with. If you don't understand the concept of "characters", and "fiction", please turn off the comp, and back away. These are not even people. They are computer generated, and live solely in the world of 3D animation. The coincidence of them looking like anyone you know is just that. They are not meant to be anyone living, dead, or zombie. So get over it. -sincerely, The kaua'i Snarklectic publishing team
Today, we are "musing" over things. Mostly because we have a hangover, and we always contemplate life a bit more deeply, when we have a hangover. It's really important to get musing s out of your head , or they stay in there, and the little voices start talking to you. So, we safely get them out of our heads, by spilling them out here. Other people also have musings as well. In fact, musings were started by the MUSES. That's why most musers are women. So, we figure that's why Joan Conrow and our new reporters, Marita Blaclalan Tani Safoaffasafoatata, and Sassamito Tasanakamoto are having mirror musings today, since there were three muses, each musing report will be done by our very own, three muses..
Good morning, kids, and welcome to another edition of "Pandering to Native Hawaiians, while dissing them", written by the ever fabulous Empress of Snark, Diss, and the Regina of Reamers Joan Conrow herself.
But first, let us begin our epic blogpost, of considerable length, and stuff Hawaiians knew already but Joan and her readers really don't, with a wonderful trip through the local jungles of Kauai, while carefully tripping over banyan, and Java plum roots, we greeted the morning sun with a GMO container filled with GMO coffee, and swqeetened with GMO sweetener, laced with GMO milk, and swallowed it down a GMO infused throat, while we listened to the GMO Grateful birds, fluttering in the GMO enhanced trees above our heads. Oh, did we mention GMO's yet? They are very healthy for you and in everything. And weare environmentalist too. Oh, wait, who are "we"?
We are the new Musings Reporters for the Kaua'i Snarklectic team. We are Marita Blaclalan.Tani Safoaffasafrittatta and Sassamito Tasanakamoto We hope you enjoy our first post for the KS blog.
So, lets begin by posting Joan Conrows blogpost, hot off the press without any comments yet. Then, as comments come along, we will update this blog with them, so you don't miss any of their chocolaty goodness.
**AAS PROMISED BLOGPOST UPDATES: EVEN MORE RACIST THEN WE THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE> JOAN DOES NOT STOP THE POSTING OF THESE> SHE KNOWS WHAT THEY SAY YET SHE IS PROUD TO SHOW THEM ON HER BLOG> CLEAR RACISM AGAISNT NATIVE HAWAIIANS> THERRE IS NO DOUBT> READ ON>THEN LET HER KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF HER ALLOWING THIS CRAP ON HER BLOG> FANNING THE FLAMES OF RACIAL TENSIONS>

- Kane Pa and Henry Noa and the Reinstated Government has been
saying this all along. Gotta look to international law. They had an
expert at the Kahoolawe trial testify about the same thing.

- OHA on sovereign nation : Don't ask don't tell.

- How would the Indians feel about the Hawaiians being a sovereign
nation in the Sate of Hawaii? Many Hawaiians are standing on false
hopes. What are the Hawaiians willing to give up on what they have
now(benefits, livelihoods, rights, educational opportunities, protection
under the US Constitution, etc) as US citizens to be a nation by
itself. Will they be able to exist as a nation to rule its people. The
reality is it will never happen not now or in the future. Running a
Nation is a complicated endeavor. There are too many self appointed
Hawaiians who want to build their own nation and not have the ability or
qualified to to step-up and govern a nation of Hawaiians! OHA?
Hawaiian Sovereignty is full of false hopes, tell me another joke!
Hawaii is already the 50th State how can you not accept that?

- 4:01 with the usual racist theme that "those people aren't
sophisticated enough to run a nation". Never mind that "those people"
ran their nation here before the overthrow by american guns.
As for losing constitutional protections, might it occur to you that the Hawaiian Nation's constitution might actually grant its people more protections that its US counterpart? It might not even have domestic surveillance.
The Reinstated government is a democracy so your concern about self appointed leaders is based on misplaced.
And one might think the American Indians would want the Hawaiians to avoid suffering some of the same subjugation and lack of true sovereignty imposed on them. You seem to imply that the Native Americans want the Hawaiians to suffer the same fate. I can pretty much assure you that among educated Native Americans, the sentiment is exactly the opposite.

- Hawaiians and fake Hawaiians you should be very careful with what
you wish . Think about a fish that was born and raised in a fish tank
and then is released into the ocean.... It won't last long.

Colette Machado pictured here amicably with Walter Ritte. Oh, so That's why! Diss one Hawaiiian, and Diss another Hawaiian, and then pretend like you are all for Hawaiians! Got it, Joan. Now, lets get to the real nitty gritty, shall we? If you read Joan's post, it would seam that she is all gung ho for Native Hawaiians, Native Hawaiian Sovereignty, Hates John Kerry, and thinks that the "system" and OHA, aren't doing right by the Hawaiian people. Now that doesn't sound too bad, does it? Well, regular people everywhere, we have a few smoking guns for you on that one. And here they are. Collette Machado, is from Moloka'i and NOT an enemy of Walter Ritte. Which, of course puts Collete in the fire-aim-shoot category for Joan, of course. And then, we have the Current Governor, and the Former Governor, and that will never do for Joan, since they are both Democrats. Does anyone think that Joan is anything but a conservative Republican no matter what she professes? Come on, people wake up. The woman is no lover of the Hawaiians Freedom Movement! How do we know? Well, its obvious isn't it? She eviscerates the very man who helped to start it, Walter Ritte.
Joan, like conservative pundits everywhere, loves pomp, circumstance, and people with tittles and money. And, like conservative pundits everywhere, Joan also loves to let others know that she is in good with them. Also, Joan will turn on a dime, one day, praising a Native Hawaiian or a local born and raised Kauai citizen, and the next day, roasting them in a steaming emu of chocolaty goodness. Come on, is this even stable? It certainly isn't "reporting", its just schizophrenic all over the map trying to push a conservative ideology wrapped in fake empathy for a group of people she couldn't give a rats ass about no matter what it is you see her write one day, the next day its a different story.
Here are some pics that Joan has rabidly and viciously gone after that are part Hawaiian, half Hawaiian or full Hawaiian, uder the guise of "I ream people equally, I am fair, I am reporting honestly".

so, How can we believe Joan's approach to reporting about Native Hawaiian affairs? We really aren't arguing some of her points, which we agree with, but it is "safe" writing, ie, "preaching to the choir". Writing about, how we should "feed the poor the hungry and the starving, and OMG those poor native Hawaiians they should have their land back, iI write good stuff about them", is negated, by Joan's viscous writings attacking many prominent native Hawaiians involved in the very things that she seems to try and make us believe she supports in this blogpost. don't believe us? ok, then lets look at the kind of comments that she allows onto her blog. Now remember, Joan regularly blocks and remove and reams others on her blogs, such as the persons shown above, yet allowed racist comments and comments in particularly aimed ant native Hawaiians .
Is that credible right, fair, or PONO? Nope. So, can we believe that Joan is the champion of anything save her own skin, and agenda? yeap.
Here are some RECENT postings on Joan's blog, which she REGULATES and ALLOWS, so you know that she saw these first.
And then has the NEVER to pretend that she is "for the Hawaiians". Joan is for HERSELF.
HYPOCRICY, DO AS I DO NOT AS I WRITE, RACIST RANTING POSTS AGAINST NATIVE HAWAIIANS , AND OTHERS, ALLOWED AFTER BEING MODERATED BY JOAN CONROW ON HER BLOG, MOST OF THEM HER OWN CONFLICTING COMMENTS with veiled references to intelligence, and being on welfare, ect, ect. If you supported 2491 as a Kanaka, then realize that JOAN IS NOT ON YOUR SIDE NO MATTER WHAT SHE WRITES: *direct blogpost comments are in green*

- California contributes way more than Kauai does to the
betterment of society. Kauai is a military base that also has a tourist
industry. Hawaii would be a total shithole without America .

- Yes, you should join California in bettering society and leave this military base to the rest of us. LA loves you, darling.

- "Hawaii would be a total shithole without America"
What an idiotic comment. Evidence of the incredibly insular mindset that the blogger admirably seems to rage against - whether coming from the left or right.

- 9:26 & 9:57. What has Hawaii done to better the world ? What has a Hawaiian ever invented ?

Molokai is 88 percent government entitlements.
If you want to see change, stop food stamps, section 8, welfare and every other gov program that pays people to not work....Molokai antis control water, zoning and almost all economic activity. Not a model for inspiration. - I'd love to know how a GMO Free group is only about the right to know?
That is hilarious. Maybe if that was the true intent, the group's name
should have been changed.
Why do people like to stay anonymous? Hmm... When you're out there, you get death threats, hate mail, nasty messages. That includes Dustin Barca sending some of them himself.
Such a highly regarded and respectful group those GMO free folks are. Can't forget how they want to burn down crops or destroy equipment! - Pile on the brown man's burden,
compel him to be free;
Let all your manifestoes
Reek with philanthropy.
And if with heathen folly
He dares your will dispute,
Then, in the name of freedom,
Don't hesitate to shoot.
-H. Labouchère.
...a dreadful person but insightful poet. - You say you don't appreciate my "constant harpings" on the failings of the "leaders" of the movement. Well I don't appreciate people who didn't know WTF they were doing trying to run a movement of this importance. Especially those who were using it for self-aggrandizement. And no, I'm not gloating over their failures, because GMO labeling and pesticide control are where my own sympathies lie. But I'm not going to ignore them, either, because there is that part of me that can't resist saying "I told you so."
- 8:28-- By "ridiculing" the "leaders" I am hoping to expose them so people stop following and supporting them. And by "harping" on the mistakes I am hoping people learn from them and also realize these tactical errors have closed many doors and will impede the movement for a long time to come.
- March 21, 2014 at 6:20 PM,
I can't speak for Joan, but my problem with the anti-GMO activists is that they think the end justifies the means. They simply make stuff up, relying on the general scientific illiteracy in our society to ensure that nobody will question their propaganda of hysteria. But inventing "facts", contorting (not just twisting) data, preying on people's fears, and leveling false accusations are not ethical behaviors. They are throwing science and reason under the bus, creating a monster that will come back to haunt us all.
